About this Park
• REITERATION: The maximum number of persons per camping permit is ten (10). All other campground procedures and rules apply. All City campsites are closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens are situated against the majestic Ko'olau Range and offer the only city campsites that are not on the beach. Set in a picturesque rainforest, the Kahua Nui campgrounds are the largest in the park offering 15 campsites. Large Group Camping is offered at this location and advance reservation up to six months. Access to the Large Group Campsite can be obtained by contacting the park directly (a minimum 30 days prior to the camping event). The Campground is limited, rates and group capacity vary, for details/reservation consult with the park representative at (808) 233-7323. Driving to the campsite or in the campground is not permitted. A printed permit is required to camp in this park. A camping permit for this location is effective Friday at 9 a.m. until Monday at 4 p.m.. All fees are non-refundable.

Bus route 55/ 56/ 65/ 77 then 2 _ miles to Visitors Center. Campers may access the park from 5:30 pm to 6:30pm. Visitors to campsites must exit the park by 9:15pm.
