About this Park
• REITERATION: (In accordance with the COVID-19 Recovery Framework and until further notice) The maximum number of persons per camping permit is five (5). All other campground procedures and rules apply. All City campsites are closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
• NOTICE: Due to the closure of the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens during the upcoming Christmas and New Year Holidays, no camping will be allowed at the Kahua Kuou, Kahua Lehua, and Kahua Nui-Makai campgrounds. This is for the camping period of: December 25 through 28, 2020 and January 1 through 4, 2020. Happy Holidays and Mahalo for your understanding.
The Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens are situated against the majestic Ko'olau Range and offer the only city campsites that are not on the beach. Set in a picturesque rainforest, the Kahua Lehua campground affords camping among plants native to Hawaii Nei. A printed permit is required to camp in this park. All fees are non-refundable.

Bus route 55/ 56/ 65/ 77 then 2 _ miles to Visitors Center. Campers may access the park from 5:30 pm to 6:30pm. Visitors to campsites must exit the park by 9:15pm.
